Troop 129 Heads to Camp Sequoyah

Camp Sequoyah — the “Land of 1000 Dreams” — sits on the Greater Alabama Council’s 1,447-acre property in Cleburne County, with an 86-acre lake for swimming, boating, and fishing, plus a trading post, dining hall, shooting range, climbing tower, ecology lodge, chapel, council ring, and miles of hiking through old-growth forest dotted with trillium, oak leaf hydrangea, and buckeye.

We will discuss ground rules and initial logistics at the next scout meeting (May 12). Parents of Sequoyah campers will step aside to chat after announcements. We will meet again before camp as needed and will send out additional materials to all camp families after this week’s discussion.
