Tree Lot 2021

It’s officially Fall now, so ’tis the season for Tree Lot.  For our newer Scouts/parents, this is our ONLY fund raiser for the year.  The Tree Lot (where we sell Christmas Trees, wreathes, etc) usually requires several workdays, and we need everyone in the Troop to participate.

The Tree Lot Committee has determined the dates for the parent meeting and first couple of workdays.  Please note, these events are considered mandatory, as we need ALL HANDS ON DECK to ensure this event is a success for the Troop.

We cannot occupy the church site (StAndrews Presbyterian) for the Tree Lot until November 19.  Based on that, we have adjusted our original dates. Please go ahead and mark your calendars with the following dates & times:

  • Electric Pole Install – Tuesday, October 12 (7:30 pm)DONE
  • Parent Meeting – Tuesday, October 19 (7:30 pm)DONE
  • First Workday – Saturday, November 20 (9 am – 12 pm)
  • Second Workday – Sunday, November 21 (2 pm – 5 pm)
  • Unload Trees – TBD (between second workday and opening day)
  • Opening Day – Friday, November 26 (9 am)

We understand that some people will already be traveling for the Thanksgiving break, but we really need everyone to assist with set up! We will try our best to knock it out in one day.

As an incentive, the Troop will be paying for a new sweatshirt or long-sleeved t-shirt (both with hoods) for Scouts who participate in these workdays. The Troop is only covering the cost of one Scout shirt. The shirts were ordered the morning of November 10; they will be distributed once they arrive.

We will not know the exact date/time the trees will be delivered until Thanksgiving week. We will share that information as soon as it becomes available.

We are still looking for someone to volunteer to make the Troop 129 ornaments for the Tree Lot.  One person does not have to make them all, but we need someone to coordinate and form a crafting group.  If you prefer to work alone, that is definitely an option as well! If crafts are your thing and you are willing, please contact Mrs. Patrece Keeter <patrecekeeter@aol.com> to sign-up!  She is leading this year’s Tree Lot Committee.

More information will continue to be shared in the coming week’s. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Keeter.
