Camp Rotary — Lake Hartwell Weekend
Friday August 21 – Sunday August 23
Adult organizers: Scoutmaster Roe
Scout organizers: TBD
This weekend, Troop 129B and 129G are headed to Camp Rotary, a 25-acre primitive camp on Lake Hartwell built with funds raised by the Rotary Club of Hartwell, Georgia. The camp features a floating swimming dock, canoe rentals, wooded campsites, and a group fire-ring area — a great spot for a weekend mixing swimming with a bit of canoeing.
Details
Camp Rotary offers primitive camping, so pack accordingly. There’s a central bath/shower house and latrines at the front and back of camp. We’ll spend most of the weekend at the swimming dock, with some canoeing mixed in. Fishing is allowed outside the swim area; anyone over 16 needs a GA fishing license to fish.
Current swimmer certification is required for all waterfront activities.
There is a $15 per scout contribution for the quartermaster grocery list.

Quartermaster fund reminder: Contributions for camping trips should be sent through our online payment page: https://www.troop129tucker.org/sign-up-and-pay/pay-online/. In the notes section, please clearly mark the troop (129B or 129G), scout (e.g., Chris Smith), event (Rotary), and reason (e.g., grubmaster $) that your payment is for — this helps the treasurer apply it correctly.
